July 27, 2009 Thousand Oaks, CA- monterey media’s darkly capricious horror release, How to be a Serial Killer, opened during Comic-Con mania last Friday at the Gaslamp 15 to throngs of excited fans. The film, directed by Luke Ricci and starring Dameon Clarke (I Love You Philip Morris, “Prison Break” , “24″) and Matthew Gray Gubler (500 Days of Summer, “Criminal Minds”), was promoted heavily both inside and outside of the convention in San Diego.
Star Matthew Gray Gubler stopped by for a guest segment on Fox 5′s Morning Show with anchor Raoul Martinez & Arthel Neville while in town to promote the movie. Those attending the Comic-Con convention got their hands on special limited edition How to be a Serial Killer bumper stickers and the film’s newly minted comic book from Viper Comics. In addition, postcards flooding the convention center promoted a special offer for Comic-Con attendees to enjoy discounted admission to see the film’s premiere Friday night. An exclusive Q&A session at the 7 and 9pm showings featured appearances by stars Dameon Clarke, Matthew Gray Gubler and director Luke Ricci. Information regarding the limited edition How to be a Serial Killer bumper stickers and the Bumper Sticker Contest can be found on the film’s MySpace and Facebook. The film’s DVD release is sinisterly scheduled for October 13th.
