It already sort of makes sense to mention former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson in the same sentence, as they’re both hot guys from England. But after tonight’s episode of crime drama “Criminal Minds,” there will be another way the two will cross paths: They’ll both have played sexy vampires.

“Criminal Minds” star Matthew Gray Gubler dished to MTV News about Gavin’s cameo on the show, revealing that Mr. Gwen Stefani will embrace his rocker roots and go for the jugular in the episode which airs tonight at 9 p.m. CBS.

“He may or may not be [a killer]. He plays a vampiric sort of rock star who may or may not be killing people to hype his album,” said Gubler, who plays FBI profiler and psychologist Dr. Spencer Reid. “I’ll be honest: I’ve noticed that [vampire] craze as well and no [we're not trying to cash in]. The thing is that [vampirism] is actually a pretty common delusion.”

He went on to note that since rock stars and vampires seem to have pretty similar schedules (minus the whole blood-sucking thing), it makes sense for Gavin to try the role on for size. “So if you’re going to pick something to fit a rock star, I think we went more with what are the odds of what he would be that cinematically interesting to watch and rather them him being a pedophile,” he explained. “They went with rock star.”

According to DreamStation a ‘Criminal Minds’ Video game is planned.

LOS ANGELES- October, 29, 2009 – Casual games developer and publisher Legacy Interactive® today announced that they have signed a licensing agreement with CBS Consumer Products to develop a video game based on the popular crime drama series Criminal Minds. The videogame, slated to launch in the fourth quarter of 2010 on the PC, will be the latest addition to their Hollywood HitsTM game series.

Congrats to “Criminal Minds” for celebrating its 100th episode at a cast party last night in Los Angeles. We assume Hollywood Crush’s invitation got lost in the mail and we forgive you. Laura Dahl send me an email about a great article she wrote. She took a look at the comparison between his two characters, Dr. Reid and Bart from the film ‘How To Be A Serial Killer’. It is a great article and you should go and read it. Here is a little part from it…

No one knows the criminal mind better than Dr. Spencer Reid, of the CBS series Criminal Minds, so who better to cast as the eager apprentice to a cold-blooded murderer in the movie How to be a Serial Killer, than the same clever actor – my brother, Matthew Gray Gubler.

Matthew plays Bart, a simple video store clerk who anxiously accepts the invitation to learn all the ins and outs of serial killing under the tutelage of a seasoned professional, Mike, played by Dameon Clarke.

Bart becomes the audience’s eyes and through his perspective we watch as this reserved and tortured character fluffs up with confidence and gains a sense of serenity by finally finding his purpose in life. That purpose just happens to be murder.

I found it fascinating how similar Matthew’s two, seemingly contrasting characters, really are. It’s as though Reid and Bart started out as the same person, but through a series of distinctly different life choices, developed into completely opposite creatures with disparate beliefs and ethics.

They’re both socially awkward. They both long to find their place in society, and they both gravitate to a life in crime. Criminal Minds the series is fundamentally based on the methodology that one must “become” a criminal in order to catch a criminal. If that’s true, Reid must know Bart pretty darn well.
