There are a lot of ‘(500) Days of Summer’ reviews out there right now. So i will post links to some of them. Have you seen it? If so, i’d like to know what you thought.

(95) Minutes of Bliss – The quirky chemistry between Deschanel’s Summer and Gordon-Levitt’s Tom is infectious, as they are able to capture what so many romantic-comedy genre film stars cannot. And that is a palpable sense of personality compatibility that overshadows and oftentimes enhances their physical attraction. More >>

Tampa Movie Examiner - Watching 500 DAYS OF SUMMER was actually a scary experience. The 95 minute presentation was so scary because of the accuracy it portrayed within it’s subject matter. The film was funny, introspective, and brutally honest in every scene. Everyone can relate to this film in one form or another. This is one movie that all should see right away. More >>

LA Times – It bristles with energy, emotional and intellectual, as it flits about the dizzying highs and weeping-karaoke lows of a passionate entanglement. The film’s many virtues include an unusual storytelling conceit, a sharp sense of music, a lover’s-eye view of Los Angeles and on-the-money performances by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. More >>

Entertainment Weekly – In the enchantingly original and romantic (500) Days of Summer, Summer (Zooey Deschanel) is a girl — capricious, alluring, and not entirely knowable — and Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is the greeting-card writer who convinces himself that she’s ”better than the girl of my dreams.” Five hundred days is the duration of their relationship, but the movie presents those days out of order, as an impish romantic flipbook, so that we keep skipping forward and back—from, say, day 8 to day 154. Most romantic comedies have half a dozen situations at best: Meet Cute, Infatuation, Pop Song Montage, Contrived Mix-Up, Angry Breakup, and Final Clinch.
(500) Days of Summer is about the many unclassifiable moments in between. More >>

Reel Movie Thoughts – The film has all the things a romantic comedy should have: the handsome guy, the pretty girl, the quirky best friends and an interesting soundtrack. But this movie is so much more. It has a clever split screen segment (half of the screen is “reality” with the other half as “expectation”), bad drunken karaoke, voice overs by an omniscient narrator that makes us feel like we are watching an Animal Planet documentary, black and white scenes, fabulous vintage-y clothing on Deschanel, a lively musical number with an animated bluebird reminiscent of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, the fractured calendar highlighted by the seasonal color changes on drawings depending on the day/season in the relationship, the Los Angeles architecture and Tom’s masculine apartment with the über-hip blackboard wall. This film is witty, well-acted, quirky and delightful and, while it doesn’t say anything new about the relationship between men and women, it is a movie worth watching. More >>
